Muskegon County government buildings are currently closed to the public to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are providing the following limited services while we respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Theses services are provided remotely or by appointment only. Call the program numbers listed for additional information.

WIC (Women, Infants and Children): 231-724-1391

  • Benefits and recertification issued to current clients remotely
  • New mom/baby enrollment by appointment, remotely
  • Breastfeeding counselor peer calls
  • Lost card replacement: Call 1-888-678-8914

Environmental Health: 231-724-6208

  • Sewage spill (residential or municipal)
  • Resident “out of water” (well failure)
  • Emergency permitting
  • Water quality issues – bacteria in the water
  • PFAS response

Food Service Sanitation: 231-724-4406

  • Foodborne illness investigation
  • Temporary licensing ONLY for applicants providing food for disaster relief effort

Sexually Transmitted Infection and HIV Control: 231-724-1258

  • Treatment for PHMC confirmed positive cases
  • Partner services (via phone)
  • Condom distribution to essential locations 

Immunizations: 231-724-1220

  • Waivers only for children of essential workers entering a new childcare

Communicable Disease Control: 231-724-4723

  • Follow up on: 
    • Norovirus Outbreaks, 
    • Hepatitis A, 
    • Salmonella Typhi, 
    • Shigella spp., and

  • Active TB investigation 
  • New Diagnosed Hepatitis C education

  • Arrange for transportation services to provide patient healthcare
  • Assist patients with barriers to essential healthcare services
