Food Code Law

Each Food Establishment (including full fixed, seasonal and STFU) shall have at least one full-time manager//knowledgeable person in charge. The person in charge may demonstrate knowledge by passing a test that is ANSI-CFP accredited. Public Health-Muskegon County may require individuals to complete food safety training when there are repeated failures to correct a critical (priority/priority foundation) violation.

This law applies to:

  • All food service establishments except:
    • Licensed temporary food service establishments.
    • Vending machine locations.
  • An extended retail food establishment.
  • A food service establishment operated within a retail grocery.
