Using model programs and research based strategies we work alone and together with other agencies to raise awareness and build resistance skills in our youth and young adults to prevent the onset of tobacco addiction.
Retailer Compliance Checks
The Tobacco Compliance Check program monitors tobacco retailers in Muskegon County. Teams of public health staff or law enforcement officers and underage youth operatives are sent into tobacco retail outlets to test retailers' ability to refuse tobacco to minors. Adult staff monitor the transaction and educate the retailers after each compliance check.
