The Community Corrections Advisory Board (CCAB) was established in 1988 under Public Act 511 and was given the power to oversee development of a comprehensive plan in order to reduce the number of admissions to prison and the prison commitment rate of non-violent felony offenders, community corrections programming, policy guidance to the Board of Commissioners and informs and educates the general public regarding the need for diversion of non-violent offenders from confinement. Term length is 3 years. No per diem is paid.
