Our Services

In addition to offering vaccination services to the public, we:

  • Oversee the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program in Muskegon County and provide VFC vaccines for eligible children
  • Administer the Michigan Adult Vaccine (MI-AVP) program in Muskegon County and provide MI-AVP vaccines for eligible adults
  • Host quarterly meetings for provider offices in Muskegon County that participate in the VFC and MI-AVP programs to collaborate and educate on vaccines 
  • Implement activities to prevent the spread of Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) from mother to newborn through the local hospital pharmacy and obstetric department 
  • Collaborate with others to promote childhood, adolescent and adult immunization activities
  • Assure that vaccination records are entered into the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR)
  • Monitor immunization rates and implement strategies for addressing rates of special populations
  • Issue reminders to adults and to parents when children are due for vaccinations
  • Offer immunization nurse education to medical offices
