Battery Recycling

Batteries Plus Norton Shores will accept everything from car, boat, laptop and regular alkaline batteries for recycle. The only exclusion being liquid nickel-cadmium batteries (generally used in aviation, rail and mass transit, not household use.) Public Health Muskegon County accepts both non-rechargeable and rechargeable batteries. Batteries can be dropped off at the Public Health Department at the Health Education office. For more information about battery recycling, please call (231) 724-6350.
- AA, AAA, C, D, 9V and button batteries
- Battery packs from cameras, cell phones, laptop computers, power tools, etc.
- Batteries from handheld electronics like iPods, PDAs, pagers, etc.
- Please Note: they do not accept lead acid batteries
Radio Shack will accept any Nickel-Cadmium rechargeable batteries at no charge, no purchase necessary. Examples of these batteries are those used in cell phones, laptops and camcorders. There are four retail locations in Muskegon County:
