The Community Development/Strategic Planning Committee met on July 17, 2008 and it was recommended and I move:
CD/SP08/07 - 14 To approve the Resolution of Support for the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians for a Class III Casino Project in Fruitport Township.
CD/SP08/07 - 15 To approve the retrofitting and installation of a used emergency generator from Wastewater at Pioneer Park for the purpose of running the park water system in the event of a power failure, for an estimated total cost of $19,675 to be paid from retained earnings in the Parks fund, 2080-0691.
CD/SP08/07 - 16 To move the Community Development/Strategic Planning Committee meeting from August 21, 2008, to August 14, 2008.
The Transportation Committee met on July 17, 2008; it was recommended, and I move:
TR08/07-26 To approve MDOT Project Authorization 2007-0264\Z10 with the Muskegon Area Transit System providing state capital match funds in the amount of $61,250 for a replacement bus, and to authorize the Chairperson to execute the contract.
TR08/07-27 To authorize waiver of the current County hiring freeze and to appoint Gary Nielsen to the budgeted Airport Maintenance Worker/6 Months Position #N08007, beginning September 29, 2008, at salary step 6, $18.512 per hour.
TR08/07-28 To approve the transfer of a 2001 Mercury Mountaineer from the Public Works Department to the Airport, with the Airport paying $5,110 to Public Works.
TR08/07-29 To approve a Contract Modification to MDOT Contract 61189-89583, or Phase II of the Airport Runway Extension construction contract, in the amount of $52,447.32, with the County’s 2.5% share to be $1,312, providing marking of the airfield surfaces, installation of a supplemental wind cone, and installation of underground ducts for FAA control cables.
TR08/07-30 To approve a Contract Modification to MDOT Contract 61190-89762, or the Airport Navigational Aid Relocation Project associated with Phase II of the Runway Extension Project, in the amount of $19,464.71, with the County’s 2.5% share to be $487, accommodating changes made by the FAA.
The Ways and Means Committee met on July 15, 2008, it was recommended, and I move:
WM08/07 - 105 To approve payment of the accounts payable of $2,600,812.86 covering the period of June 28, 2008 through July 8, 2008, as presented by the County Clerk.
WM08/07 - 106 To authorize Public Facilities, with the assistance of the Purchasing Department, to solicit Requests for Proposals for Energy Audits/Energy Savings Plans for all County-owned facilities.
WM08/07 - 107 To approve the Muskegon County Wellness Program mission statement and authorize the Human Resources Department to enter into an agreement with BC/BS of Michigan to provide the Maximum Net Savings Option at a cost of $1.65 per County employee contract per month for a total of $18,077 per year.
WM08/07 - 108 To authorize Equalization to provide Geographic Information System (GIS) basic level of service agreement to the Townships of Blue Lake and Ravenna and the City of Whitehall and to authorize the Board Chairman to execute the Inter-Governmental agreements as prepared by and to be carried out by the Equalization Department.
WM08/07 - 109 To approve Child Haven’s request to waive the hiring freeze and fill the Child Care Attendant - Full Time position #G18003, when it becomes vacant.
WM08/07 - 110 To refer the County of Muskegon’s 150th Year Anniversary Discussion/Study to the Community Development/Strategic Planning Committee.
