The Courts/Public Safety Committee met on January 8, 2008, it was recommended and I move:

CPS08/01 - 01 To authorize the Prosecutor to accept the grant from the Community Foundation of Muskegon County in the amount of $5,000 and to establish a new budget within the Crime Victims’ Rights fund effective immediately.

CPS08/01 - 02 To authorize the Board Chair to sign the hazardous materials and technical rescue team mutual aid agreement, subject to final review and approval by Corporate Counsel, with Newaygo County.

The Human Resources Committee met on January 8, 2008, it was recommended and I move:

HR08/01 - 01 To authorize Brookhaven MCF to create one (1) new full-time Activities Aide position through the elimination of two (2) budgeted and vacant Hospitality Aide positions, A13501 and A13502.

HR08/01 - 02 To authorize the Community Mental Health Executive Director to sign the Lakeshore Coordinating Council Substance Abuse Block Grant, with the MIChild and Adult Benefits Waiver Attachment Agreements, for a total of $4,000.00 Block Grant funds, for the provision of outpatient substance abuse treatment services to dually diagnosed consumers for the period of October 1, 2007, through September 30, 2008.

HR08/01 - 03 To approve execution of an agreement between Muskegon Community Mental Health (CMH) and Ottawa County CMH for fund transfers related to the CMH Medicaid program.

HR08/01 - 04 To authorize the Community Mental Health Executive Director to sign the addendum extending the March 22, 2007, Medicaid Contract with Lakeshore Coordinating Council through September 30, 2008, and to amend the Reimbursement Rate Schedule for the period January 1, 2008, through September 30, 2008.

The Ways and Means Committee met on January 8, 2008, it was recommended, and I move:

WM08/01 - 01 To approve payment of the accounts payable of $4,555,520.85 covering the period of December 12, 2007 through December 28, 2007, as presented by the County Clerk.

WM08/01 - 02 To approve the Lease between the Muskegon County Fair Board and the County of Muskegon, for a ten (10) year term and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the Lease.

WM08/01 - 03 To approve the Equalization Department’s request to waive the hiring freeze and fill upcoming vacant Appraisal Technician position #G09203.

WM08/01 - 04 To authorize the Muskegon County Equalization Department to commence the bid process for acquisition of spring 2008 digital orthophotography for Muskegon and Ottawa Counties for enhancement into each County’s geographic information system.

WM08/01 - 05 To approve the Equalization Department’s request to waive the hiring freeze and fill vacant Appraisal Technician position #G09205.

WM08/01 - 06 To advance up to $5,000 toward sponsorship of the 2008 Martin Luther King Unity Day Event.
